St. James Mercy Hospital’s School of Radiological Science admits 14 students annually for its 24 month competency-based radiography program. The program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiological Technology (JRCERT):

Clinical Sites
Currently the program has 5 JRCERT approved clinical sites in Hornell, Dansville, Wellsville, Bath – Ira Davenport, and Olean, New York, and an articulation agreement is in place with Alfred State College that assures the program is able to meet its stated mission and goals.

Mission Statement
St. James Mercy Hospital School of Radiological Science enables students to become competent, efficient and caring radiographers. The School of Radiological Science has the primary responsibility to ensure that the student has acquired the positive characteristics of dedication to duty, quality care, team work and high ethical standards as they relate to the patient, their families, physician and technologists. The School embraces the Mission and Core Values of St. James Mercy Hospital in its education of the students enrolled in the program.

Goals of the Program
1. To develop competent practitioners capable of functioning in the highly technical and dynamic field of Radiologic Technology.

2. To develop competent practitioners who demonstrate proficiency in communication skills.

3. To develop competent practitioners who demonstrate proficiency in critical thinking and problem solving skills.

4. To develop practitioners who model professionalism and life–long learning.
